Upcoming Events!

Hello Everyone!

Sorry about the late notice but today from 2:30-3 we will be making flyers in the WS Office (NH 469). Everyone is welcome!

And...

To whom it may concern - members of the student body, student groups, and community of Portland State University:

Thank you so much to those of you who came to our meeting last Friday! While their were clearly moments of tension, there were also wonderful moments of clarity at the meeting and I hope that people left knowing that a strong student movement is possible! Information changes daily and its crucial that students maintain a strong voice in this process. In our last meeting we discussed shifting our focus from consolidation talk (until we get a clear statement on the matter from Dean Kaiser) to putting pressure on CLAS to fill the positions in the Women's Studies and Chicano/Latino studies departments. This Friday we will discuss this issue more and continue to brainstorm ideas about a plan of action!

It is time for us to come together as students in coalition and stand up for our rights!

Come get the facts, come share your voice, and come to unite in action to keep our four departments strong!

What: PSU Community Meeting

When: Friday May 15th, 3:00-5:00PM

Where: PSU Women's Resource Center (1802 SW 10th & Montgomery)

Why: Our money, our education, our departments.

Whether or not you are a student of Women's Studies, Chicano/Latino Studies, Native American Studies, Black Studies, or simply concerned about this situation, we invite you to be part of this dialogue.

And...

Today I am going to speak with M.E.Ch.A. and get more information about the letter they have drafted demanding the Dean to hire a second faculty member in their department. We are going to brainstorm an agenda for the meeting on Friday as well as talk about making a letter of support for other students to sign. I will update later to let everyone know what I learn from M.E.Ch.A. today!
